Major Russian Strikes Disrupt Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while local people in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to water supplies, as stated by city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while officials has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but firm measures - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and implementing sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty rockets struck energy facilities, describing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area endured intense attacks during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child died and several individuals were injured.

The attacks come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were anticipating additional strikes.
